NYPD Police: Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Central Park

According to Daughtry, the plan is to deploy drones in response to specific 911 calls for service. Three precincts in Brooklyn, one in the Bronx, and one covering Central Park have been selected to participate in the program based on recent crime trends. The precinct stationhouses will be equipped with the necessary infrastructure to support two drone platforms on their roofs.

While the drones will take off and land from the station rooftops, the pilot will be stationed at the NYPD Joint Operations Center at police headquarters in lower Manhattan. They will be responsible for sending video and telemetry to officers in the field in real-time.

NYPD Police: ShotSpotter

The drones will be deployed to shootings in their respective precincts and will respond to alerts from the ShotSpotter system, which detects gunfire using a network of microphones in the area. The drones will autonomously respond to these alerts, flying to the location before the officers arrive on the scene.
