False Preachers

False preachers are deceivers who proclaim to spread the word of God but do so with deceitful motives. They twist scripture to fit their own agenda and manipulate their followers for personal gain. This post outlines tips for believers to be vigilant and discerning when it comes to identifying false preachers in order to protect themselves from being led astray.

…and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money…

Micah 3:11 KJV

False Preachers: Wealth

One of the key characteristics of false preachers is their focus on material wealth rather than spiritual growth. These individuals often preach a prosperity gospel, promising material blessings in exchange for financial contributions from their followers. They exploit the faith of their congregants for their own financial gain, leading them to believe that wealth is a sign of God’s favor.

Twisting Scriptures

Another common trait of false preachers is their manipulation of scripture to justify their actions and teachings. They cherry-pick verses out of context and twist the meaning of the Bible to suit their own purposes. By doing so, they deceive their followers into believing that their teachings are biblically sound when in reality they are far from the truth.

Examples:

One prominent example of a false preacher is televangelist Joel Osteen, who preaches a prosperity gospel that emphasizes financial prosperity as a sign of God’s favor. Osteen’s teachings have been criticized for promoting a shallow form of Christianity that prioritizes material wealth over spiritual growth.

Another example is the controversial preacher Benny Hinn, who has been accused of exploiting his followers for financial gain. Hinn’s extravagant lifestyle and questionable fundraising tactics have raised concerns about his true intentions and credibility as a spiritual leader.

Avoid Preaching About Prophecy

These preachers never mention or focus their attention on the return of the Messiah. As the scripture warns:

“…people who do not acknowledge Yeshua the Messiah’s coming as a human being. Such a person is a deceiver and an anti-Messiah.”

2 Yochanan (2 John)‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬‬ CJB

They’re attention are usually focused on worldly matters of our everyday lives as if we are going to live here forever. These are the Antichrist’s preachers who will willingly accept and encourage their members to accept the Antichrist mark.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, false preachers pose a significant threat to the integrity of religious communities by misleading their followers with misinformation. It is important for believers to be discerning and vigilant when it comes to identifying false preachers in order to protect themselves from being led astray. When you hear their preaching, what are they talking about? Do they ever mention the Coming of the Messiah and the rise of the false Messiah? If not, according to this scripture, they are false! I have used this as a roadmap for any pastor who are wolves hiding in sheep’s clothing.
